One successful job led to another at the Oakbrook Shopping Center...
Howard Concrete began their extensive work at the Oakbrook shopping center with their inital project on the Nordstrom building. Each floor of the three story structure was formed from concrete. Laying the foundation proved complicated due to bad ground conditions, and the need for heavily reinforced concrete slabs. The foundation also used odd-shaped sections of concrete to form the base of the distinctive building.
	After the work on the Nordstrom building was completed, the managers of the shopping center were impressed by the quality of the work. When the shopping center's large extensive pedestrian walkways needed to be relaid, they contacted Howard Concrete directly.
	The walkway renovation called for an exposed aggregate finish for an attractive tiled appearance. Despite the demanding technical requirements for this detailed work, Howard Concrete made sure to put the needs of the shopping center's customers first by carefully scheduling their work around peak shopping hours. In fact, Howard employees worked primarily at night, carefully timing the project's stages to minimize the impact on customer traffic and store sales. Although the entire area was redone, no stores were closed and the affect on business was minimal.
